Gooseberry retreat

I was lucky to retreat away from the Smog infested, traffic filled, noisy, hustling busy city life on Veterans day 2012, with the best company on the Planet properly named escape adventures, Las Vegas Cyclery, and Moab Cyclery. We were Gooseberry Bound! We piled in late loaded with all the Winter wool cloths we could find, Helmets, shoes and mountain bikes. The Drive was short with only a few minor detours along the way. When we arrived it was about midnight, I knew right away this short much desired trip was going to be epic. A simple look into the sky revealed millions of tiny little twinkles of stars I never knew existed. 2am - Time for bed we have a lot trails to attend to at sunrise.

Waking up with pure excitement much have given many of us the urge, the Pug was the perfect bathroom run bike ;)

When you come to a Place like Gooseberry Mesa, picking a path can be Extremely Difficult, Lucky for us it was well marked.

After Many boulders, drops, single track, slick rock encounters, we finally made it to the top. Nothing is more rewarding than a mesmerizing state of Zen. That is the Best I can explain the Epic views atop the Mesa. The Perfect Back drop for lunch.

As I stood here, I pondered with the Mountain bike God's. I thanked the Veterans for the service they provided for us so that we can be free. Free to pedal one stroke at a time.  I love my Job.
